I had the opportunity to read Tharapy Rapture by David Russell. Here is my review:

Therapy Rapture

By David Russell

Therapy Rapture is a collection of poetry; artwork and a one very sensual short story. It explores erotic romance with delicacy, refinement, and sensitivity.

The story is about a repressed male protagonist who fantasizes about finding sexual fulfillment with his therapist and his fitness trainer.  Mr. Russell does an excellent job conveying the eroticism and sensuality of these encounters but the scenes are not graphic in nature. Instead they are more romanticized.  The story is a bit abstract, but that’s to be expected when you’re dealing with fantasy and not reality. I found it to be an interesting read.

The artwork is a set of sketches. I interpret most them to be various fantasies of different traditional romantic encounters. These seem to be a further extension of the romanticized fantasies of the male protagonist from the short story.

The poems are somewhat abstract as well, and vary in nature. Some are the author’s perception of the pop star Madonna and others are a romanticized view of love and sex.

All in all, I found this book to be interesting and enlightening. After all, how often do we get to hear about love, romance and sexual fantasies from the male perspective?

Happy Reading,

Anna
